Encouragement for the anxious mind.
Encouragement for the anxious mind.
To the one who thinks too much… maybe you’re like me. Struggling with anxiety and racing thoughts, overthinking literally everything there is to overthink simply because I just care so deeply about so many things.
Run, don’t walk to God. Our emotions are very real and they hold a very real place in our lives but we should let our emotions show us our need to run to the father instead of dwelling on them. No emotion is too great for God.
It’s also very important to have biblical reminders to bring us comfort when we feel so restless and anxious. So i‘ll leave some of these truths found in God’s word below and I hope they are a comfort for you. They sure are a comfort to me.
Be anxious for nothing
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” – Philippians 4:6
Lean not on your own understanding
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” – Proverbs 3:5-6
We are given the power of a sound mind, the opposite of an anxious mind
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7
Don’t worry about tomorrow
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Mathew 6:34
Don’t worry about what you will eat, drink, or wear
“Therefore I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear” – Mathew 6:25
